Every year there are countless events being held across the Sheffield City Region. Many of them are designed specifically for those in business. With summer just around the corner, you might be feeling a little uninspired and an event might be just what you need to pick up new ideas and meet some inspiring people!
We’ve searched, asked around & used our own experience to compile a list of 10 must attend events in Sheffield
1 Startup Weekend Sheffield
What they say: Startup Weekend is an awesome experiential learning opportunity that brings together designers, coders, and startup enthusiasts to take ideas from concept to minimum viable product in just 54 hours.
Who’s it for: Everyone – all ages, all backgrounds and all levels of education. You do not have to be a student to attend Startup Weekend and, in fact, most attendees aren’t.

2 Creative Guild Launch
What they say: Sheffield Creative Guild will connect creatives of all persuasions from across our city. Through events, timebanking, conversation, networking, commissions and promotion we will all feel the benefit of joining together

3 Enterprising Partners Networking Roadshow
What they say: An opportunity for socially responsible entrepreneurs, business owners, and professionals in Sheffield City Region to meet and engage with a range of charities, social enterprises, voluntary and community groups to discuss how through partnership working third sector organisations can become more resilient, sustainable and collaborative.

4 The Platform
What they say: The Platform is a free, open Business Social event run 9 months of the year, designed to allow a forum for creative, digital people from across the City to meet and enjoy interesting discussion with like-minded individuals.
Who’s it for: Entrepreneurs, people in business & start-ups from the creative and digital industries.

5 & 6 Enterprise Nation
What they say: Enterprise Nation announced Start-up adviser and co-working centre boss Matt Hill as Sheffield’s champion for small business. He will head-up the city operation of Enterprise Nation, organising workshops, events and offering local small businesses access to the support and tools they need to grow.
Who’s it for: Local small businesses and startups.

7 Sheffield Soup
What they say: Sheffield Soup is a live, sociable, crowd funding event, where soup lovingly prepared by Silversmiths Restaurant and a crowd sourced feast is enjoyed whilst discussing four pitches and deliberating which one you would like to vote for. A minimum donation of a fiver is required, with all donations given to the winning pitch.
Who’s it for: Anyone with an idea.

8 Doc Fest
What they say: Sheffield Doc/Fest is a world leading and the UK’s premier documentary festival, celebrating the art and business of documentary. We aim to create a festival experience that is creatively inspiring and the place for pioneering and innovative ideas, projects and thinking.
Who’s it for: Creatives, documentary makers and lovers.

9 KTN Entrepreneurs’ Forum (oops… how did this sneak in here?)
What they say: These events bring local creative, digital and tech entrepreneurs together to meet, share ideas, and collaborate; with the long term goal of supporting entrepreneurship and knowledge transfer in the business community.
Who’s it for: If you are an established business owner, a startup owner or an aspiring entrepreneur in the creative, digital or tech sector, then this is definitely for you.
