IoT Tribe North Launch & DMCX 10th Year Celebration

A 2 hour launch event for the new Internet of Things accelerator programme in the North, followed by a 10 year celebration event for the Barnsley Digital Media Centre building.

Barnsley Digital Media Centre came to us for logistical help with two back to back events they were hosting. The first was to be a 2 hour launch event for the IoT Tribe North accelerator programme, which needed to include informative presentations and an expert panel session. This was to be immediately followed by a more relaxed event to celebrate the DMC being open for 10 years and to kick start their DMCX year of activities. This event was aimed at internal tenants and needed to have a relaxed and fun feel and include a short presentation with videos and a light-hearted awards ceremony. Another key ask was for the DMC staff to be free to enjoy the event themselves and not need to worry about coordination on the evening.

We project managed the logistical set up of external suppliers on the day including, staging, AV, catering and décor. We worked to the required time scales to ensure everything was fully set up for guests arriving for the first event at 3pm. With guidance from the client we stepped in to manage the final programme and running order, this included liaising with speakers to collate all of the event content. Our team then oversaw everything from setup and registration, to coordination of the different elements throughout the event, leaving the client free to enjoy the evening.

“We used Freshly Squeezed to help co-ordinate our recent 10th Anniversary. Laura and her team were amazing. Everything was so well organised, and Laura even offered to liaise with our external caterers, so that we could relax on the night, knowing that the whole evening was in safe hands. We would thoroughly recommend Freshly Squeezed to anyone wanting a well-planned, and well executed event – in fact Laura and team are managing the next Council award ceremony later this month!”
