The Balance Building Christmas Lunch

A lunchtime Christmas event for the tenants at The Balance building in Sheffield city centre.

WHAT THE CLIENT WANTED / THE ASK

We were approached by the building managers who wanted to run a fun, lunch time Christmas event for the businesses located in The Balance building. They wanted to make use of the outdoor courtyard area as it had recently been refurbished. There were around 500 employees working from the building and the main aim of the event was to encourage the different businesses to interact and meet one another, but it needed to be something they could drop into due to varying lunch times.

HOW WE ACHIEVED THIS / THE OUTCOME

We worked with the client to develop a concept that could run for the duration of the 2 hour lunch break. Our caterers brought in a Christmas lunch with a twist, serving turkey and winter veg burritos, alongside the usual festive favourites; mulled wine and mince pies. The outdoor courtyard was turned into a winter wonderland with the help of fairy lights and a snow machine. We were joined by the amazing Laura Kelly (http://www.laurakellymusic.com) who put her own spin on Christmas songs through the use of loop pedals and harmonisers. Hundreds of the buildings’ employees attended the lunch and it was amazing to see so many different groups interacting with one another and getting into the Christmas spirit!

“Freshly Squeezed were great to work with. They created exactly the kind of experience we were after, and were more than happy to alter and adapt elements of the event to suit our ideas. I look forward to planning an event with Freshly Squeezed again in the future.”
